Applied Process hosted its first Manufacturing Day events at our Livonia and Oshkosh facilities on Friday, October 12th to link future generations to careers in manufacturing. In Livonia we hosted students from William D. Ford Career-Technical Center, and in Oshkosh we welcomed students from Oshkosh Area School District. Over 40 students attended in total, and it was a success! The event started with a presentation about the company and a discussion of the types of parts we heat-treat followed by a plant tour where they enjoyed seeing our process in action. Students joined us for lunch and a Q&A session where they could ask various employees of Applied Process questions about their career path and manufacturing in general. The event ended with a raffle and students were given some AP “swag” to take with them. We have received positive feedback that our event was enlightening for students and a great way for us to help make a positive impact on careers in manufacturing, so we plan to run events in all three of our facilities next year!
